Fall Online Tax Sales

buying tax liens onlineWant to know about fall online tax sales this year? There are more online tax sales for tax liens, tax deeds and redeemable tax deeds than ever before. Here’s what’s coming up this fall…

Online Deed Auctions

You can usually find online deed auctions year round in California and Florida, but did you know that Washington, Wisconsin, the state of New York have counties with online tax deed sales this time of year? And this year, thanks to the pandemic, even more state have online tax deed auctions coming up this fall. This year some counties in Virginia, Ohio, Nevada, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania have tax deed auctions online.

Tax Lien Sales

Indiana, New Jersey, and Colorado have online tax lien sales in the fall. In past years, only a hand full of Indiana counties had their tax lien auctions online, this year more of these sales are online. There are also more municipalities in New Jersey with online tax sales than ever before. There are 550 municipalities in New Jersey and I believe that more than half of them now have online tax sales.  About half the counties in Colorado have online tax sales. Premium can be paid for tax liens all 3 of these states. In Colorado you do not get interest on your premium and you do not get your premium back! So you really need to know what you are bidding in the online tax sales in Colorado.

If you go to https://taxlieninvestingtips.com/?p=1568, you can read a older post with more detail about the Colorado tax sales. The Buying Tax Liens Online course includes a training for the Colorado online tax sales and also includes information on the Indiana online tax sales. It’s updated periodically, and when you enroll in the course, you also get lifetime updates! It was just updated in 2020, but I will be updating it again soon, because there are even more online tax lien sales this year! You can find out more about it at www.BuyingTaxLiensOnline.com.

Louisiana

And then there’s Louisiana. I consider Louisiana an oddball state. That’s because it could be classified as a tax lien state or a redeemable state depending how you look at it. It is also the only state that has laws based on Napoleonic law instead of English law. As a result of this Louisiana does not have counties. In Louisiana the “counties” are referred to as parishes. Some of the Parishes in Louisiana do have online tax sales, but beware, in Louisiana it is the interest ownership should the lien (or deed?) not redeem that is bid down at the tax sale.

Redeemable Deed Sales

Only in recent years have any of the redeemable states had online auctions, but now there are a few online redeemable deed sales. Originally only Shelby County Tennessee was online. But now there a quite a few online tax sales in Tennessee and some of them are coming up in the fall. Texas also has a handful of counties with online tax sales, and some of these sales happen once a month.
