Looking for tax deed sales that are online this fall? Many states have postponed their spring and summer tax deed sales to the fall of 2020 due to COVID-19. And many of these tax sales are online. In fact in tax deed states like Michigan and New York, where tax deed auctions were conducted live and also online, will now only be online. Here what’s coming up in the next couple of months….
Online Tax Deed Sales
There are a quite a few Florida tax deed sales coming up throughout the fall and many of these auctions are online. Some of these counties may have tax sales as often as once a week! New York also has a few counties with tax sales this fall that are online. There are only a couple of counties in Washington and in California that have online tax deed auctions scheduled for this fall.
There are a few Louisiana parishes that have online tax deed auctions in September and October. These auctions are a little different than deed sales in other states. In order for a property to be included in a deed sale, an investor first has to initiate the sale of that property. In order to initiate the property to be included in the sale, you have put a deposit on it – usually $850. This allows the parish to do all the title work on the property and issue the winning bidder a warranty deed for the property. If you are not the winning the bidder, you do get your deposit back, but only if you bid on the property. If you initiate the sale of the property but don’t bid on it, you forfeit your deposit.

Counties in the state of Michigan will have all their tax sales from September 1 through October 8. They usually happen in late summer, but have been postponed because of COVID. Although many of these counties were already online, now because of the shut down in Michigan counties, all but 2 or 3 counties will have online tax sales. Some of the counties do a real good job of posting information on the properties in the tax sale, with multiple pictures and a description of the property – with the property condition.
