I answered questions about investing in Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I do these live videos on Facebook every Tuesday, at 2pm Eastern Time. Which tax sales around the country have been postponed or canceled their tax sales due to COVID? And which states are carrying out their tax sale auctions as usual…

Tax Lien Sales Around the Country

For tax lien sales, it’s a mixed bag. Some states continue to postpone their live tax sales, until later in the year. A couple of tax lien states that only have live auctions – Iowa and Washington DC have canceled their tax sales for 2020. Other states that only have live tax sales have postponed them. Some states that have online tax sales pushed them off a little but still had the live auctions this summer. And some will still be coming up this fall. Continue reading →

What impact has the COVID pandemic had on redeemable deed investing? 

The COVID shut down has affected tax lien and tax deed states by postponing or cancelling some tax sales. Especially the tax sales that were originally scheduled for the spring or early summer of 2019. And many of those tax sales went online for the first time. But how has it effected the redeemable deed investing? After all, most of the redeemable deed states only have live tax sales.

In the state of Texas, who’s more populous counties have live tax sales once a month, most sales were cancelled during April, May and June, but then resumed by July or August. Texas did have a couple of smaller counties that had online tax sales, but once the shutdown hit, 2 more counties switched over to conducting online auctions. Continue reading →
