Here’s another motivational message from my friend Arnfried at Be Motivated Today. This is one that I have a different opinion about and you can read my response to it in the comments.
We all hate it when things happen all around us and we have no control or part to play in the events. Like when a family member is ill and we can do nothing about. Or when others are struggling and we can’t help them.
But we also hate it if things are not working out in our life and we feel we have no control. Perhaps in our marriage, parenting, friendships or finances. The good news is that you have more control than you think! You want to make things happen yourself and you can. You may feel at times that there is nothing you can do, but most times you can pick up the phone, make a call and get some advice. Then follow the advice. But you have to make the first move. Take the initiative to improve things for yourself.
Here is a joke I heard many years ago:
There are 3 types of people in the world:
- Those who make things happen
- Those who watch things happen
- Those who ask “What happened?”
Make things happen for yourself!
Affirmations:
I have control over my life
I can change my life
I make things happen
Be all you can be.
With Fond Regards

My opinion is that you have to choose to take the chance to make the change. If you dont design your own life and plan changes youll fall into someone elses life plan and guess what they may not have much planned for you at all.

God is in control, I believe and trust God, God gives us a will to choose to act positively and move on or negatively and stay trapped in that place. If you can pray and trust God and believe that God will be done on earth as it is in heaven, accordingly not my will but God’s will. Then, we can move on, learn, grow, accept, and be happy!

You’re right on, Joanne. And of course, we are all at different places in life. What I mean by that is that people movea according to their projectory, whether we know it or not. BUT, our attitude and responsiveness as reflected in our thoughts determine much in life.

I believe that some thing are out of our control, because God gave humans free will and people sometimes do the wrong things. However if we trust in God he can help us improve our lives and the lives of people around us. Sometimes God will tell us what to do other times we just have trust God.

As much as we like to think that we are in control, we can’t control everything. My personal belief is that God is in control. And although we can change our future by changing our thoughts and actions, there are just things that we are not in control of. In those cases it is not what happens to us that effects us, but how we react to what happens to us that effects our happiness and well being. That is why some people can come out of bad situations and still have a wonderful life, while others continue to be depressed or suffer in some way from the “bad” things that happen to them.
